The 2009 Bimbo Tournament is under way in Chicago, and guess what! SCORES' partner school, Castellanos, has two teams heading to the semifinals! Soccer Coordinator Grant Bruce had the lucky opportunity to cheer the teams on at ChiTown Futbol, and wrote in an email to SCORES' staff:
"Just last night the lovely young ladies from Castellanos qualified for the Semifinals of the Bimbo Tournament. The boys won their game last week and are also playing in the semifinals. They were surprised last night with BRAND NEW BIMBO UNIFORMS TO KEEP. I wish you all could have seen the smiles on the kids faces; they have worked so hard and deserve this. The girls will be playing Wednesday at 5pm and the boys on Thursday at 5pm.
"If either team keep their winning ways, the winner of the tournament get a full paid trip to Dallas to play in a nation tournament. Talk about an amazing opportunity!
