Jamboree

After a disappointing rained-out Jamboree last year, everyone was eagerly anticipating this year's event! The weather held for the entire afternoon and all the schools celebrated their hard work over the past few months. It was a great way for teams to share the service projects they had completed in their communities. Congratulations to Castellanos for winning the Golden Ball!

SHOUT! Day of Service

On Friday, May 14, students gathered on Douglas Field in drizzly, windy weather to play soccer, clean-up the park, and interview poet-athletes from other schools. The afternoon gave the youth a chance to learn more about those they encounter during games each week, but might not speak to outside of the turf. They gathered litter from the wet grass and sat with pencils in hand to write down the answers their interviewees gave them. A big thank you to all the volunteers that braved the chilly temperatures to help make SHOUT! a fun time for SCORES students.

Junior SCORES

This winter, the Junior SCORES program expanded from two schools into four: Chalmers, Gregory, Corkery, and Pilsen. The K-2nd grade students showed off the soccer skills that they learned throughout the season on the final game days in March. Parents, family, and friends cheered on the teams as they dribbled, passed, and scored!
